Beyond the usual things for which Bangkok is known for (naughty night lives, for all you People who are still figuring out what that meant), shopping is one arena which has been Drawing constant attention from tourists who get ample room for buying fancy brands and their knock-offs. Even while traveling in one of those many flights to Bangkok, you will get to see Bangkok’s shopping prowess being promoted in the in-flight magazines.
One such popular destination which is ramping up the activity quotient is Siam Square. Siam Square is the proverbial pivot of Bangkok city and is the root when it comes to train Networks; because the station at Siam Square is the arterial station from which all other Nerves branch out. For the ones who want to own that Hugo Boss rip-off which no one can differentiate, Banglamphu is the best and optimum solution.
If you wish to go antique shopping, Silom is go-to destination for it hosts timeless artifacts worth their weight in gold. These are timeless creations which have a sophisticated sales process and the artworks on display are bound to stir you into buying them. But as far as artworks are concerned, there is a huge hazard of landing up with fakes, so be armed with the knowledge of the pieces beforehand and if possible, tag along somebody who is experienced in identification of the real thing, preferably a native. Similarly, Yawarat is a place for buying bullion items like gold and stones of worth. As in Silom, be wary of counterfeits passing your way projecting to be real.
All in all, Bangkok has been a shopper’s paradise since long. Right from the downright expensive to the dirt cheap, a tourist has an option to choose what he wants for himself there are a lot of bargains available in the city so getting to the right price would not be a problem for him if he has an intention of a serious buyer. Ask any 100 people who are boarded on cheap flights to Bangkok, their primary purpose of going to Bangkok and atleast 10 will say “Shop”.
